We are arriving at the International House of Pancakes, Foley Alabama on our return trip to Birmingham after a beautiful fellowship and weekend in the sun. Edna Taylor Shotborg, Roxanne Cox, Joan Vernon Wooten and across the table with their backs turned to the camera, Odessa Conley Cain, and her niece Michelle Trainer

Vickie Trainer, Odessa Conley Cain's niece, Edna Taylor Shotborg, Roxanne Cox, Joan Vernon Wooten, of Kentucky, Michelle Trainer, another of Odessa's nieces, Odessa Conley Cain, and Joan Vernon's sister. On every event that our 1961 Class has hosted, on an out of town excursion, we have had grand children, brothers and sisters, the mothers of some of our classmates, and it has always turned out to be a family affair. This picture was taken at the IHOP, in Foley, Alabama on our way back to Birmingham following a very relaxed and enjoyable trip to the National Shrimp Festival and our tour on The Civil Rights Trail

As we get a wider view, Larry Stinson, our spiritual leader and his wife Annie has joined us, seated at the left end of the table. This has been a very joyous occasion.

The only event that we try to do as a group is dinner together on Saturday night. Each person orders their own, nothing is prearranged except the seating reservations. Our original reservation was at the Oyster House, located on Mobile Bay. Someone in our group went to Lulu's which was very close to the hotel and the rest is history. The food is great at Lulu's, they have a band in the early hours and the food is fantastic and inexpensive and the venue is great. We were seated overlooking the river and another restaurant was located just across the river. as you see in the background. In this case the second option worked better than ther first option and the travel time was cut significantly giving us more time to enjoy ourselves. God is good.

Larry and Annie Stinson, Olivia Foster Ridley, Vickie Zeigler, Odessa Conley Cain and her other niece Michelle Trainer. We did a "U" turn on the way to the Oyster House and went to Lulu's and we have to place the blame on Larry. Listening to Larry caused us to have our best night and the most enjoyable evening during the entire trip. Larry's words have a very passionate meaning and effect, especially when he prays for our group, it leaves you with the feeling that you can get a grip on things and go, and you have the power of God guiding you. We have had some very positive and meaningful times together in recent years.. God is good.

Lulu's Restaurant, the beginning of a great evening and near perfect weather, and a great venue to have dinner. Ronald Goodwin, Michelle Trainer, Odessa Conley Cain, and Vickie Zeigler. Both of Odessa's enjoyed being with the members of our 1961 Class and expressed a desire to venture with us again on our next outing.

There are many hotels right on the beach, white sand pristine blue water and an inviting atmosphere. Orange Beach is not far away.

The weather was perfect on this day, blue skies, not too hot, and few clouds, and a perfect day to be on the beach and at the National Shrimp Festival.
